Our company is located in the Chianti Colli Fiorentini area, on the Poppiano hill (300 meters), a splendid medieval settlement dominated by the castle.
We are located on the opposite side, or on the ridge of the hill overlooking San Casciano Val di Pesa; where we have soils rich in stone or, more Tuscanly, pill and galestro.
The company has been in the family since 1975 and was purchased by the family of the Counts Guicciardini Corsi Salviati, who passed on the denomination of Marzocco to us.
It is a reality of about 70 hectares, of which 35 hectares of vineyards and about 8 hectares of olive trees.
The project we want to present was born in 2014, the year from which the zoning of land and the census of company clones starts. Among the other vines present we have identified: four clones of Sangiovese, a Canaiolo from the fifties, an interesting Trebbiano Toscano and the long Malvasia of Chianti. These are joined by internationals such as Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot.
Since the 2015 vintage, we have vinified the parcels and vines separately.
Soon, new plants will also go into production where Vermentino and Viognier are also present, to add a white wine to our range.
Our olive groves, about 2,000 plants, are registered in the olive land register of the IGP Toscano and are located in four different plots. Among the other cultivars present, we have identified: Moraiolo, Frantoio, Pendolino, Leccino, Leccino del Corno and Coreggiolo. Every year, depending on the quality, we select the olives and the best cultivar to produce monovarietal oil. “

Per il compleanno del mio ragazzo ho deciso di regalargli una degustazione nella cantina Marzocco. Non potevo scegliere niente di più azzeccato! I proprietari oltre essere molto cortesi ci hanno fatto sentire come fossimo stati a casa nostra.Il tour della cantina è stato estremamente interessante grazie al racconto appassionato di Maurizio. Ci ha mostrato tutto l’amore con cui vengono fatti i vini della loro tenuta. Roberta estremamente carina e cortese ci ha coccolati un light lunch buonissimo. Ma non fatevi ingannare dalla parola light perché è un pranzo a tutti gli effetti. Il pranzo era logicamente toscano e ogni vino accompagnava egregiamente le portate. D’altronde da degli intenditori come loro non ci si può aspettare niente di meglio. Quindi se dovete scegliere una degustazione consiglio vivamente la tenuta Marzocco.
