Conte Guicciardini is a family-run business consisting of three estates in Tuscany:
POPPIANO CASTLE: Historic fortress built towards the end of the first millennium to defend the city of Florence and has been the historic company of the Guicciardinis since 1199. The estate is located in the Chianti Colli Fiorentini area. In the winemaking cellar, everything is set up to enhance the quality of the grapes grown and harvested in our vineyards. The maturation and aging, in barrels for the Chianti Colli Fiorentini and in barriques for the IGT wines, takes place slowly in the basement of the Castle and adds roundness, value and character to the wines which are completed with a few months of refinement in the bottle.
Castello di Poppiano is the headquarter of all management, administrative and commercial activities of the three estates pertaining to the Conte Guicciardini Group:

MASSI DI MANDORLAIA (Morellino di Scansano),
BELVEDERE CAMPÒLI (Chianti Classico).
The wines of all three companies are available for direct sale and tasting at the Wine Shop at the Poppiano Castle

• Vinsantaia of the Grand Tower: A unique experience in the heart of our Vin Santo, with a panoramic view of the Tuscan countryside.
Tasting:
• 4 wines: Two selected reds and “LAUDEMIO” Extra Virgin Olive Oil, served with “Fettunta” bread, prosciutto, salami, local cheese, crostini
Finish with our Vin Santo and traditional almond Cantuccini biscuits.
All products are locally sourced and prepared upon reservation.

Experiência maravilhosa. A visita e degustação ao Castello di Poppiano, com a guia Carolina foi simplesmente inesquecível. O castelo é lindo e cheio de história, com uma verdadeira arquitetura medieval , e uma vista linda das encostas das Toscana. Os vinhos são deliciosos e marcantes. Carolina, foi muito simpática e, como nós, brasileira, o que fez de nossa visita uma aula particular sobre tudo o que envolve a produção do vinho e azeite, além das histórias do Castelo. Tudo maravilhoso.

The best wine tasting experience I had so far… it is so obvious that they are passionate at what they do. Janine was a great tour guide with her deep knowledge, hospitality and passion for wine and olive oil. Tasty wine, amazing meat with it but the surprising factor was the olive oil. I am currently trying to find excuses to eat the olive oil that I bought from Cinque de Vino:)

My wife and I were fortunate enough to tour the historic and very beautiful Castel Poppiano with the amazing guide Janine.
We later discovered that our guide had worked in many capacities for this estate for many years, as she shared her encyclopaedic knowledge and boundless enthusiasm for wines and oils of the Tuscan region. We have toured many wineries in many regions, and somehow Janine was able to share her passion for great oil and excellent wine in such a way that we hung on her every word. We learnt so much about the estate and the special care that is taken by the ancient and royal family who run this lovely winery to produce exceptional products.
If you have two hours and you are nearby, please consider meeting Janine and experiencing this wonderful place.

Lovely experience with wine and antipasto! Tour guide was amazing and she knows all about the wines, olive oils, and local cured meats. Four of us booked a tour and tasting and it was a wonderful experience!

This was one of the 2 greatest experiences from our family tour of northern italy. The wine tasting and bike tour of the Tuscan country side was beyond breathtaking. The wine was spectacular, as was expected from the region, and the tour was very informative. Be sure to get some pictures from the top of the castle as the view is unreal and endless. Once on the bike the random scenery put the “post cards” you’ve seen to shame. This is a must for anyone visiting the area whether you arr in shape or not!

Had a tour with Tusceny bike tours through the castle. Beautiful wine/ olive oil “farm”, nice wines with douable prices they sell in their shop. Even as their olive oil.

Super Wein und eine tolle Location. Wir waren auf dem Abschlußkonzert der Musikschule San Quirico. Eine unglaubliche Inszenierung mit vielen musikalischen Talenten.
