A BEGINNING WITH VISION
What began with a few vines and olive trees has become a carefully curated boutique estate. Guided by a commitment to quality and shaped by a deep respect for the land. When Wolfgang Reitzle and Nina Ruge acquired the historic Villa Bertolli near Lucca, they laid the foundation for something special. The villa was restored with great attention to detail. Not as a backdrop, but as a living part of our identity and the soul of what we do.
TWO TERROIRS, ONE PHILOSOPHY
LUCCA – In Pieve Santo Stefano and Arsina, northwest of Lucca, we now cultivate nearly seven hectares of organically certified vineyards. A region not widely known for fine wines. And yet, that was exactly the appeal. With a deep sensitivity to terroir, climate and tradition, we create wines with unmistakable character. Clear, elegant, and honest. Our olive oil bears the PDO seal (Protected Designation of Origin), the certification that guarantees the highest quality and authentic regional heritage. It is the result of centuries-old knowledge, careful hand harvesting and gentle cold extraction. Bottled in small batches, it remains natural, full-bodied and deeply expressive of its origin.

The highlight of the tour is a guided tasting of four carefully selected wines, each reflecting a different facet of our terroir, accompanied by our award-winning, cold-pressed extra virgin olive oil.
In an elegant setting, we serve a generous selection of local cheeses and fine cured meats, along with fresh wood-fired bread, drizzled with our extra virgin olive oil – a refined and indulgent finale that, depending on the time of day, feels like a light lunch or an aperitivo.

Discover Villa Santo Stefano through movement and nature. This guided walk leads you through our vineyards and olive groves, along ancient stone walls and gentle slopes overlooking the hills of the Lucchesia. Along the way, we share the quiet details – soil, varietals, climate and the philosophy behind each bottle.
The tour continues into our cellar, where modern precision meets traditional craftsmanship. Your experience concludes with a guided tasting of three expressive wines and our organic extra virgin olive oil – a perfect fusion of landscape, story and taste.
PASTA AND WINE – 4h – € 150pp

A relaxed farm-to-table pasta experience in Tuscan style. We begin with a small aperitivo featuring local cheese, freshly baked wood-fired bread, our own extra virgin olive oil and a glass of GIOIA white wine.
Afterwards, in the special atmosphere of our serra, we prepare two fresh pasta varieties completely by hand. Using flour from locally grown grain, stone-milled in the Garfagnana, you will learn everything from dough-making and fillings to perfect cooking and a seasonal sauce.
You will then enjoy your pasta drizzled with our cold-pressed olive oil, accompanied by three selected organic wines from Villa Santo Stefano. An intense and pleasurable experience that brings together cooking, wine, and conviviality.
Water, our own organic wine and a small dessert as a sweet finale are included and complete the experience.

LOTO – Toscana IGT supertuscan
Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc e Petit Verdot – Aged for 12 months in high-quality French barriques, each grape variety separately. 30% new wood. The final cuvée then ages for 6-9 months in concrete vats.
NINA – Toscana IGT supertuscan
Cabernet FRANC 100% – Aged for 12 months in French oak barriques and tonneaux
GIOIA – Toscana IGT Vermentino
Vermentino 100% – Aging: six months in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperature
LUNA – Toscana IGT Rosato
50% Sangiovese, 30% Merlot, 20% Ciliegiolo
VOLO – Toscana IGT Rosso
Cabernet Sauvignon, Petit Verdot e Alicante – Aging: Eight months of aging in concrete tanks

Den vackraste vingård jag varit på! Chansade och åkte dit spontant. Vinmakaren Allessio tog sig tid att visa oss runt och provsmaka Vermentino och supertoscanare i en helt fantastisk miljö. Stort tack!

Ein wunderschöner Ort, den wir heute besucht haben. Wir unangemeldet hin gefahren und wurden herzlich begrüßt. Frau Pforr hat uns die Olivenbäume gezeigt und sind anschließend in den Weinkeller gegangen.
Wir haben noch eine Wein- und Olivenölverkostung gemacht.
Ein sehr gutes und leckeres Olivenöl und sehr guter Wein.

Begeisterung, Qualität und Gastfreundschaft in der Villa Santo Stefano!
Eine Weindegustation an der Piazza San Michele zu Beginn unseres Urlaubs in Lucca und ein Blick im Vorfeld auf die Homepage von Villa Santo Stefano motivierte uns, auf diesem Weingut einzukaufen.
Neben dem degustierten Weisswein «Gioia» erstanden wir zum Start auch ein paar Flaschen der Rotweine «Volo» und «Sereno» direkt in der Villa Santo Stefano.
Unangemeldet hatten wir das gepflegte Weingut besucht, wo wir aufs herzlichste von Francesca (Verkauf & Marketing, Sommelière für Olivenöl) empfangen wurden. Ihre sprühende Begeisterung für die Weine und das Olivenöl des Hauses war derart ansteckend, dass wir uns zu fünft drei Tage später zu einer geführten Verkostung erneut in der Villa Santo Stefano einfanden. Petra (Leitung Sales & Marketing) führte uns durch Anlagen und Weinkeller und begleitete die Verkostung. Diesmal kauften wir ausgiebiger ein!
Kompetenz, Begeisterung und Freundlichkeit gepaart mit der Qualität der Weine bleiben ein unvergessliches Souvenir an unseren Urlaub in Lucca.
Gerne erinnern wir uns auch an wiederholte herzliche und freudige Begegnungen mit Francesca und ihrer Mutter (Leiterin Admin.) im Supermercato von Sant’ Alessio, wo viele regionale Produkte zu haben sind!

Eine Traumhaft schöne Location unweit von LUCCA. Das schönste was wir bis jetzt gesehen haben! Ein toller Ausblick in die Umgebung und ins Tal nach Lucca.
Meine Frau und ich haben ausgezeichnete Weine verkostet.
Die Besitzerin, deutschsprachig hat uns sehr freundlich bedient obwohl wir unangemeldet gekommen sind. Man sollte sich aber unbedingt vorher anmelden was wir leider nicht gewusst haben.
Wir möchten uns nochmals Herzlich bedanken für das Ausgezeichnete Service.
Möchte einen Besuch in diesem Weingut jedem weiterempfehlen der Weinliebhaber ist und in die Gegend von Lucca/Pisa kommt!

Wir haben diese Woche eine Besichtigung samt Weinprobe in der schönen Villa Santo Stefano durchgeführt – es war ein tolles Erlebnis! Neben der hauseigenen Weinauswahl konnten wir auch die eigen angebauten Oliven sowie das daraus gewonnene Olivenöl probieren und ich kann es nur jeden empfehlen es selbst auszuprobieren. Neben dem Ambiente und dem Wein/Olivenöl waren auch die Mitarbeiter sehr zuvorkommend und freundlich. Wir kommen gerne wieder!

Wunderschönes Weingut mit unheimlich netten Mitarbeitern und einer familiären Atmosphäre, die man nur noch selten erlebt. Frau Dr. Pforr erklärt einem auf Augenhöhe die tollen Weine des Weinguts, die der Kellermeister Allesio liebevoll herstellt. Es ist für jeden Geschmack etwas dabei, von fruchtig und einfach zugänglichen Weinen wie der VOLO bis hin zu den Flagschiffen LOTO und NINA, die unfassbar komplex, intensiv und zu gleich sehr elegant schmecken.
Wir würden jedem einen Besuch empfehlen.

Прекрасная ухоженная вилла и такая же образцовая новая винодельня !!! Супертосканские сорта винограда!!! Отличное, очень качественное масло!!! Продумана каждая мелочь! Все содержится в отличном состоянии! Начиная от ландшафтного дизайна, винодельня, апартаменты, коллекция раритетных авто тд…! Познакомились с хозяином!

Info: Bei Kaufinteresse (Wein/Olivenöl) sollte man sich vorher anmelden da vor Ort keine klassische „Verkaufsstelle“/Ladengeschäft befindet.
Wir kamen unangemeldet und wurden dennoch zuvorkommen, freundlich und außerordentlich herzlich von ALESSIO (Winzer) empfangen. Dieser unterbrach seine Arbeit um uns das paradiesische Anwesen zu zeigen. Kurzer Hand durften wir die Weine und das Öl in einem malerischen Salon / Dinnerraum verkosten. Eine kurze beeindruckte Führung durch die Herstellungs- und Lagerräume lies uns sprachlos werden. Wir erwarben Wein und Öl zu einem tollen Preis bei dieser guten Qualität.
Ein Zufallsfund über Google bleibt nun auf Ewig positiv in unserer Erinnerung. Sollten wir wieder in der Gegend sein ist ein weiterer Besuch bei einer solchen Gastfreundlichkeit Pflicht.

Breathtaking views and delicious vino. The host was incredibly gracious and offered suggestions for olive oil shops and other restaurants to check out in Lucca. Will be coming back to do a group dinner at some point .
